Katherine Squires

Katherine has been teaching at Garden City High School for eleven years. She is dually certified in Special Education and Social Studies. She attended the University of Scranton and Dowling College. In 2011 she was awarded a teacher fellowship for graduate study from the New York State PTA. In addition, Katherine was nominated as a semi-finalist for 2017 NYS Teacher of The Year. Besides teaching course through NYCTD, Katherine is an Attendance Dean, Yearbook Advisor and Class Council Advisor at her school. Katherine is also on the national “Yes I Can Committee” for the Council of Exceptional Children and on the Kiwanis Committee for the New York District of Key Club International. Katherine is the lead teacher of the special education department for Garden City High School and is in the educational leadership degree program through Stony Brook University. Katherine is also the director of Successful Students Tutoring Service
