Registration

  • Do I need to obtain a prior approval from my school district to take a class for salary advancement?

Yes, it is the sole responsibility of the student to obtain prior approvals for both professional development in-service and graduate courses from their district before registering. NYCTD, Inc. is not responsible in any way for courses that are not approved or accepted.

  • How do I register for a class?

You can register and pay online by credit card using our website nyctd.org on your computer or any mobile device.

  • Can I register for a class if it has already started?

You may register up to 5 days after the start date of the course. If you register late, you are an add on and it may take up to 24 hours to receive your welcome email to begin the class. It is best to register before the start date of the class if possible.

  • Can I change my registration after I register?

Switching your registration from graduate to in-service is not permissible but switching from in-service to graduate may be done prior to the start date or within two weeks after the course has started.

  • What's the difference between a professional development graduate level
course and an in-service course?

Participants who successfully complete a professional development graduate level course can request an official transcript from the University of Massachusetts Global, who award both the grades and credit for the course. Students who complete a professional development in-service class receive a certificate of completion directly from NYCTD, Inc. Both types of courses are typically used for salary advancement at the discretion of your school district depending on which status they require.

No, you can take our classes in any state as long as you have received prior approval from your school district.

In-Service Credit

You will receive a certificate in duplicate in the mail. One copy will be embossed for your employer and the second copy will be a student copy for your records.

  • When will I receive my in-service certificate of completion?

Your in-service certificate of completion will be mailed to each participant shortly after the end date of the course.

Professional Development Graduate Credit

  • Will I receive a 1098 form for professional development graduate courses?

  • Are the graduate courses part of a degree status program?

No, our graduate level courses are considered continuing education and are created for Professional Development purposes. They are not part of a degree status program.

  • If I take the class for graduate level professional development, how do I request/order my transcript?

After completing a course for professional development graduate credit, PLEASE do not order an Official Transcript prior to receiving two emails from University of Massachusetts Global. The first email will include a username and student ID for an account in University of Massachusetts Global’s system. Your will have to activate this account, if it is the first time your account was created. If you order an official transcript before your grade has been posted from University of Massachusetts Global, this will result in a “hold” on your transcript. An Official Transcript can be ordered only after you receive the second e-mail that states your grade for that particular class has been posted. Usually, it takes approximately two weeks after the end date of the course for your grade to be posted. Please review your unofficial transcript to be certain it is complete before ordering your official transcript. University of Massachusetts Global’s transcripts are cumulative. For more information, please click Transcript Requests.

  • Where can I find the graduate course numbers?

All professional development gradate course numbers are available on our website.

years to maintain your PA teaching certifications. For this requirement you would need to take
